Scroll saw

#260025 by JW727 » Tue May 28, 2019 6:58 pm

I just bought and old shopsmith. It came with a scrollsaw attachment. Today I was messing around with it and went to attaching the scroll saw for the first time. There are two drive pins on the side of the headstock. The only one I can get too line up with the saw is labeled "only use this high speed with jointer or sprayer". Do I connect the saw to that one!? I would need extensions for the posts and the table would be at about 5.5 feet high if I were to line it up with the other drive shaft. Thanks in advance

That preceded the creation of the scroll saw.

The scroll saw does connect to the lower idler(aux) shaft.

You can download a PDF of the Model 610 jigsaw manual at the link below. Strange place to find a machine manual, but it’s been there for years.

Thank you! I couldn't find answers anywhere and didn't want to connect it and blow it apart before even using it! Cheers!

Now IF you have the jigsaw, it DOES connect to the upper shaft.
