Re: Great Idea or Just Madness...
The drawers are installed and I will be working next on drawer fronts. I got a good deal on some hickory, but I underestimated and will need to get a little bit more to have enough for the drawer fronts. I'm happy with the way the drawers work. I put some double sided tape on a few scraps of wood to...

Re: Chair repair & refinishing
Great work. The supports between the seat and the back are absolutely gorgeous.

Re: Great Idea or Just Madness...
I am still stuck in “drawer purgatory” but I am now ready to install them. Prior to gluing them up, I decided to build Nick Engler’s gluing jig. Here is a link to The Workshop Companion website: https://workshopcompanionstore.com/ This is a fantastic gluing jig and provides a dead flat surface with ...

Re: Anyone making a Mother's Day gift?
Yes. I wish I had the SS mortise maker. I used a 3/16" dowel to lock it in on both sides, but that was probably overkill.

Anyone making a Mother's Day gift?
I would be interested in seeing some Mother's Day gifts any of you may be working on. My wife likes to spend alot of time in her garden. I had been eyeing the set of three garden tools sold at Rockler for awhile now and purchased the set about two weeks ago. I also picked up three pieces of canary w...

Re: Great Idea or Just Madness...
I am currently building the drawers. Each of the three cabinets will have four drawers. Two at 4.25" on top, a 6" in the middle, and a 10" on the bottom. The drawers are each about 14" deep except one of the 6" drawers will be extra deep to store lathe chisels. While I am tr...

Re: Great Idea or Just Madness...
As for the fit of the cabinets, I am planning on arranging them at 60 degree angles with a 180 degree "wedge" between each cabinet. I think I should be able to hang both floating tables on the sides of the cabinets. I will have to find efficient ways to use that space. I can build shelves ...

Re: Great Idea or Just Madness...
After a great long time, I finally have an update on this project. It has been dragging on and has been sidelined by other events, but I have been working on it when I can. At this point, I have the base completed and finished with several coats of polyurethane. I got the bottom table installed perm...

Re: 4" lift on a Greenie
On second thought I will need to add more weight. I way overestimated the weight of the 2x4 lumber. I have the pieces cut to rough lengths, but will wait until I get a set of retractable casters before building that part. Then with some rebar and cement, I will get the weight I am looking for, but s...

4" lift on a Greenie
Ever notice how projects lead to projects? I set out to make an awesome Lazy Susan tool/accessory cabinet for my Mk V 520. While planing down the initial pieces for the butcher board tables, my planer broke. I looked on CraigsList for a used planer. I did not find one. I did, however, find a 1956 Gr...
