Now I'm not advocating sloppy or poorly built projects but a seam where you can slip a hair in does not make the project junk. Or a finish that isn't perfectly flat like plastic does not mean the project should be redone. Indeed. I've seen so much garbage coming out of the "home" workshop...

What I'm really after is a jointech user telling us what it is really like using a jointech over the plain SS. Ed I've got the SS 520 and jointech upgrade. A fence is a fence, so that really isn't the 'gotcha' - it is the absolute accuracy and repeatability with that fence and the "clincher&qu...

Does anyone know if you get the jointech full package that included a router table whether you need something else? In the description they mention the table comes without the rail. I assume they mean table rails that are used to connect the table to the Shopsmith. The price of the rails are around...

Thumbs up

Hi Ed - I've got the Cabinetmaker's system. Wow. All I can say is "wow"! I've had mine just under a year and love it. I really looked at the Incra and was close to buying their product, but was really put off by the anti-SS attitude. (Yeah, I know, it is contrary to the love-fest you see b...

With the SS, you just dial it up or down, just like anything else SS related. Also, the belt tracking actually wor...

Forrest WWII gets another vote

I've owned/used just about all the "big names" out there and keep preferring the Forrest. It cuts clean - as the previous poster mentioned - so clean you don't dare mess it up by sanding! With a good blad your saw isn't bogging down near as much. I've also heard that the difference in the ...

I sure like mine

I know I sure like mine - I've had it for about 6 mos. and wouldn't want a different one. (I've got a DeWalt 788 gathering dust.) Here's some observations: - table size is very nice, but you can find this on others, of course - variable speed (also on some other makes/models) is VERY nice - the blad...
