I upgraded my bandsaw a year or so ago and simply used some of the heavy clear plastic packaging material that comes with so many products today. this worked well and the cost was right! Just another option. Steve

Even though I grew up and live in the country, I worked for over 30 years for a local municipality and I liked the movie with Billy Crystal so I started using this screen name over 10 years ago on various sites.

Dusty, don't know if this will help but I seem to recall that the Total Shop motors could be wired for either 110 or 220 and IIRC they claimed more HP than SS at the time. Don't know if any of those motors would fit in a SS however. Good luck.

Please allow me to weigh in with my $.02. I did not have any problem with the original post. I have seen many references in many posts to items offered for sale on other web sites (typically non SS items) and nobody raised a fuss. Also we have had references to repair or refurbishing services on SS ...

Interesting topic. Couple of observations: in order to remove the coupler w/o moving either the headstock or the SPT it seems to me that the tolerances of the fit at each end would have to be compromised to allow the sideways movement. Second, wouldn't you think SS has given a lot of thought to this...

I thought someone might catch the irony Tim. Actually, I grew up working on farms and did indeed learn to drive on a Farmall Cub. I started using the login name several years ago when I worked for a local municipality and after watching and enjoying the movie "Cityslickers".

Francis, love the wagon and the tractors. I had a Ford 8N for 13 years and loved it. Very similar to your TO20 except you have a much better engine! I learned to drive a tractor on a 1949 Farmall Cub. Brings back fond memories. Thanks!

I have a bandsaw that was behaving badly (throwing the blade off the upper wheel) and after calling into SS customer service was advised to repair it per Bill Mayo's routine and it worked. I now am in the habit of releasing all tension on the blade after using it. I also modified my cover to allow t...

I think Ed summed up my thoughts very nicely. I myself have a SS 500 that I have not upgraded (with the exception of 2 bearing quill) and it meets my woodworking needs. While I am sure those of you who are using 510 or 520 models believe they are giving you great value I suspect there are many 500's...

Dusty - I had very similar problems with PDF files and firefox until I went to Firefox's help site. If you look in your bookmarks pulldown menu while in Firefox you should see Mozilla Firefox. Submenus in that include a help and tutorial option. Click there and then type in Adobe PDF issues or somet...
