I've not used a router table for box joints, but I can visualize that the flutes move in to the piece toward the backerboard on one side, and emerge out away from the backerboard on the other. An inherent disadvantage of a spinning bit versus a saw blade.

For what it is worth, the original bearings in my 510 (bought new from SS) were stamped "Japan". See previous post for image.

I much prefer the Bosch approach. A shame if it is not sold for a reasonable price.

Sometimes grease is applied to the shaft and bearing during assembly to aid in seating.
