Re: Jointer Blades
Check out a jig that is made by a company called Deulen. I made my own version of it using a piece of maple ages ago and it works great and cost about $5.00 which was the price of the threaded brass inserts to hoed the knives in place. It only takes a few minutes to make with the SS table saw and is...

Re: Making wedges on the jointer
I would have to agree that proper set up for the SS jointer is everything. But unless you are going to get obsessive about keeping it exactly in alignment it will have its limitations. Not having an adjustable outfield table really increases the amount of time needed to keep it tuned up. All that sa...

Re: OK now its beds for cats
Yes the cat did tip it over first thing ! To solve the problem it is currently zip tied to the wall on the corner. As far as how its made I laminated up the base and column and then used the SS to turn it as a unit. The top is birch ply framed with alder. The inlay was done by first routering in a 3...

OK now its beds for cats
Since we had dog beds I figured we needed equal tome for cats. This was my solution for an elevated cat bed. It is made of alder, maple and padauk. The base was the max height I could turn on the SS

Easy method for segmented bowls
There are many ways to do segmented bowls. I have been turning them for years and really enjoy the concept and the almost limitless way you can vary the designs. I personally just keep it very simple. I use a Makita miter saw to cut the segments. I have a sled I built years ago but find it is slower...
