Re: V-belt replacement
I have yet to find a NON shopsmith replacement belt for my greenie. Fortunately these are still available the mother ship. Good thing too as as Poly V conversion is a bit pricey. Last time I got belts from the Shopsmith they came with detailed replacement instructions. a quick you tube search found ...

Re: One more Power Pro ownership thread.
Same here no plans for acquiring a Power Pro 3 main reasons (also nothing to do with SS or the Power Pro) 1. Switching to using predominantly hand tools in most of my woodworking (quieter, safer, less fine dust, better exercise, and overall more enjoyable for me personally) 2. If my existing 1955 SS...

Is this CNC or Pattern routing? Guessing CNC since talking about a file.

Re: Woodworking bench
I have to agree with Ed. So much of workbench choice has to do with expected/preferred type of work. I made a joiner's bench similar to Ron's above and base don the Paul Seller's bench. 5 feet in length and not quite as deep. (smaller space and I tend to work on smaller projects) I also shifted away...

Re: making wooden yoyos on a drill press with a hole saw
Penn State also has Yo-Yo offerings. https://www.pennstateind.com/store/yoyo-kits.html I have never tried any of the products and based on reviews probably would not try the blank cutters. The shortie Mandrel (eh? you could do the same thing with a standard mandrel and clever custom bushings) But th...

Re: Just got my first Shopsmith had a couple questions
I would not consider any of these things($$$$$$ ) until you gain sufficient experience that will then tell you when/if they are desirable for you. I concur with this sentiment. Pay close attention to cost regarding upgrades. When all is said and done it may be more cost effective overall to j...

Re: Wood Types For Woodworkers
I have some redwoods planks 3”x8”x7’ I’d like to use in turning some bowls. Has anyone used redwood for large turnings? Redwood is an open grained soft wood and as such is subject to tear out especially end grain when turning a bowl. Practice shear cutting end grain using a bowl gouge on less expen...
