New hobby for a friend

So I have an old buddy who was down on his luck and moved back to where we grew up together. Had a rough transition after leaving the marines and asked me if he could come over and use the shop sometime. He did construction for a while and wanted to get into lathe work and more fine woodworking. Dec...

Re: New Mark 7 ?

Don't forget that when looking up reviews on the web or especially on forums, you are more likely to see issues than positives. Most who live the unit will be using it, not trying to fix it via a forum. So take everything with a grain of salt. I would say the vast majority will not regret the mark 7...

Re: Shop Layout and Design Considerations

I agree to go ceiling outlets for center of room and wall (about 3-4' high) around the shop. Use the 4 outlet versions in my opinion with multiple circuits. I strongly suggest a sub panel just for the shop outlets. 220v? A must for at least the center of the room and maybe 1 on the perimeter. Why? P...

Strip sander idler wheels

I picked up an extra step sander with a recent purchase. My prior one I believe is newer and has plastic wheels (I had to replace them once), the most recent one has metal wheels. Does anyone know of a reason they changed them out? Are the metal ones more reliable? Any input would be nice. Or also s...

Re: Heads Up - Bargain 'available'

This thing is down the road from me but no room for another. Still $300 with both scroll saw and router items is a heck of a deal.

Re: Shipping issues bandsaw table

I have had the same issue. When I called they said they would ship it out the other part next. For my order they sent the three bolts and washers first, then the bandsaw table extrusion a few days later. No call to me, I had to call them. They are horrendous at customer service. I suggest calling cu...

Re: Adirondack Chairs

Very nice. I plan on making some Adirondack chairs next year myself. I love that they fold up. Where did you get your design?
