Re: Installing Jointer Blades
Yep TDC as set up by a dial indicator gauge and then reconfirmed after setting all 3 blades. Really does speed up changeovers!JPG wrote:The mark is at top dead center?

Re: Lets talk Pro Planer. I need help!
After having refurbed and played around with 4 Shopsmith planers now. 2 pro and 2 non-pro. One pro in similar situation of not having had the key in place with significant damage to the key way due to overaggressive set screw tightening where the key should have gone. I actually hand milled the key ...

Re: Updated Dust collection (Thein Baffle)
Great little project! I love my Thein baffle and it captures a lot of stuff. At least for my high flow CFM, low pressure Dust collector, it must capture close to 99% of the dust before it ever reaches the filter.

Re: Installing Jointer Blades
I think the manual lays out a great plan of action for setting the jointer blades, but it can be a bit more time consuming than I like so I just built a handy little jig for it. There are a couple of youtube videos out there showcasing how to make a similar one to mine. It's a fun little project if ...

Re: Another Dust Collection Quandary For the Experts
I don't know Mark, but both of those units look exactly like my HF unit, spec are similar, they look like they are just painted a different color. The HF unit is half the price, with the the money you save you can do the Wynn Environmental canister upgrade and end up with a much better DC..been usi...

Re: Another Dust Collection Quandary For the Experts
Hey All, If anybody wants a cool DIY project. A Thien Baffle cyclone separator works incredibly well on my 1 HP rikon 60-100 Dust Collector! There are a lot of youtube videos on building one for the 2 hp dust collectors (like the HF ones). It was a fun build, takes about 4-5 hours once you have all ...

Re: Festool my journey and where I am today
Haha, I just saw all the new posts, you got one hell of a deal for that extractor. Should work well for you for years to come. As mentioned, you would ideally purchase a high flow/low pressure dust collector system to work with the SS vs. something like a festool dust extractor. It will work to a ce...
