Ive been posting lots of videos lately using my shopsmith 2000 table saw and my shopsmith mark V (I think). I turn on a delta 460 lathe but do use the SS quite a bit in my videos. Thanks for the compliment Al. As usual it came out of necessity. At the time I was turning a lot of paduak which has really nasty dust so I had to come up with a way to sand the rings with minimal dust. The other problem I was having was consistency in the thickness. I was doing a really tall padua...

I intentionally stay away from their site. Its awesome stuff but if I learn to make the jig, ill get better in every other area.

Clever jig...I think I am likely to use it...thanks for sharing. I understand what you mean by "weaponizing"...I once launched a candlestick across the shop by using the drill press with sanding disk in exactly the set up you show. Without anything like your holding jig, though. :rolleyes...

Thats fantastic. I didnt think I was the only one ever to think of this. Yours looks much safer and that sanding shield would be a great addition..
