Re: What's a Mark IV (4)?

Bob, please read the article. There was indeed a Mark I. The author even has the manual for it. Apparently they only sold two.

Re: Serial number lookup

I am guessing that you are referring to Weber Products. They bought them two months after buying Magna.

Re: What's a Mark IV (4)?

I think this needs to be researched more. I just came across a advertisement from 1958 that lists a Mark II, Mark IV, and Mark V. I am looking for more just in case that is a typo. Considering that this is shortly after the intro of the II, I am wondering if there was briefly a stripped-down version...

Re: The Missing Mark 5 Serial Numbers

I did a little searching to see what was the last reference to the Mark VII I could find. I came across this ad from November 1968. https://www.newspapers.com/clip/36700459/mark_vii_last_ad/ Rather sad that the ad copy is almost identical to the first ads. I looks like Magna was just not serious abo...

Re:Serial number lookup

Hi, At some point (in the 50's) a company called Yuba Power Products acquired Magna Engineering. Yuba then sold it to a group of employees who created the Magna American Corp. They moved sometime around 1964. That company ended on 31 Dec 1966. Ed It appears that Yuba aquired Magna in March 1958: ht...

Re: The Missing Mark 5 Serial Numbers

Russ, You stated that "We do not know the introduction date for the Mark VII" so I decided to do a news search and found this: https://www.newspapers.com/clip/36608215/mark_vii_introduction/ This is from the Los Angeles Times on Oct 17, 1963. Also found this from the Cincinnati Enquirer Oc...

Re: The Missing Mark 5 Serial Numbers

Doing one for the Mark VII would be difficult. I have not seen any information on its production except the Shopsmith Sales History document. All I know is they were produced from the 1963-1964 fiscal year to the 1968-1969 fiscal year. 10,671 units were sold with sales decreasing each year of produ...
