Re: Help selling a 10 ER
An expression I’ve always used to describe any of the older Shopsmith models is the at they’re generally worth less than the sum of the the parts - in other words, selling components can often net more than you could get selling the machine as a whole. I also recommend people really look hard at the...

Impressions from Celebration of Woodworking event
I attended this weekend’s Celebration of Woodworking event at SS HQ in Dayton. I sprung for the VIP tix, and really enjoyed the reception that was put together for us on Friday evening - we had a chance to catch up with the SS team (including owner, Nick Cupps), and meet some new and old friends in ...

Mark 2 with Greenie Bandsaw for $100 (OH) I’m out here in Dayton for the Shopsmith event this weekend, and see this on the local Craigslist: https://cincinnati.craigslist.org/tls/d/middletown-shopsmith-mark/7746208959.html If anyone is interested in picking up a bandsaw for cheap, I’m in need of so...

Early Model 10E/ER Saw Blades I’m sitting at the airport, excitedly awaiting my trip to Dayton today to join the Celebration of Woodworking event this weekend!! So glad to see the vibrancy that the new ownership has brought to the organization… Anyway, got some time to kill, so it’s a good opportun...

Re: Share your Magna memorabilia!
Unused Lamp Attachment Although Magna was very keen on having a full line of Shopsmith/Magna-branded accessories for their machines, they weren’t necessarily in the business of developing and manufacturing every one of those items. A lot of “consumable” accessories (abrasives, adhesives, lubricants...

Re: Shopsmith History
It is the same Shopsmith History that I questioned at the beginning of this topic. And since we are on the history page again does anyone know when Magna American Corporation actually closed. The history page has it as 1964 but I have seen items dated later than that making me believe it was closer...

Re: Shopsmith History
My father-in-Law has a green SS, but the serial number is very low: 85004. It was bought a LONG time ago...most likely in the 50's or 60's. See the pic. He says it is a Mark IV (4), but doesn't have any documentation. Any clue what this thing is? That’s a Mark 2 - a low-cost 5–in-1 machine produced...

Re: Any suggestions?

You might want to post some pictures of what you’re seeing to allow for better suggestions from the group. If it’s cosmetic, you may be able to ...
