Re: Pop-ups are worse than Spam

As an update, the pop-ups haven’t happened to me for the past few days. Maybe the site management decidied that annoying registered users who are already logged in was not necessary — or, corrected the bug that was causing it. If so, Thank You.

Pop-ups are worse than Spam

I notice the annoying, inconsiderate, useless and disruptive registration pop-ups are back. I am disappointed that the site management has chosen to revive this practice, which has been unanimously disliked by forum users in the past. To me, this makes using this site a much less experience. Stupid....

Shopsmith abrasives at Lowes

Maybe this is already a common sight for some of you, but I was surprised to see that familiar logo on a whole section of sanding materials — disks, belts, and flap wheels — at my local Lowe’s yesterday. All were marked ‘Made in USA’, or ‘Assembled in USA, Made in South Korea’. Prices were reasonabl...

Re: Nova G3 Chuck - Black Friday deal?

Looks like Woodcraft now has the G3 with just the 50 mm jaws and no insert for $99.

Re: Your circadian accent at MMOGO

Just FYI. The links in this type of post are often used to direct visitors to sites that infect visitors with malware, ransomware, etc., so it's a bit more insidious than simple search engine optimization.

Re: The next project working on the woodshop.

A laminated beam will work. Not cheap, though.

You could shift the work a few inches with a 2MT extension like this in your tailstock: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2MT-TO-2-MT-EXT ... xyzi9SgUBC

Re: Keyless drill chuck on Ebay

Shopsmith chuck is 5/8 in. capacity; eBay chuck looks to be 1/2 in. max. May be a good deal, just not equivalent.

Re: Robert Sorby Micro Sandmaster, opinions?????

I made my own based on Eddie Castelin's video. Simple and much less than $80. The video shows a fixed handle version, but an adjustable handle is a simple mod. Good for those who want to try out the self-powered sander method inexpensively.

Bill Belichick has one. I don't think he likes it. :) Seriously, although I don't own one, I think it will be great for what you want. However, I would strongly encourage you to consider more than 8gb of memory.
