Re: Unknown part in my Shopsmith Mark V Model 500 box
I was going by the style of the casting. Looks to be similar to castings used in the early mod 10 but I am not familiar enough with 10 or 10ER

Re: Unknown part in my Shopsmith Mark V Model 500 box
Not really familiar with the model 10 an 10ER's but it appears that it could be a riving knife.
It appears that it could have come from a 10 or 10er

Re: Beginning Pen Turning
Use a lot of care to not get glue inside the tubes especially if you use epoxy.
One pen kit manufacturer says to put some play dough in the ends of the tubes to prevent this

Re: Cutting Slots
If you are talking about 75 deg to the face of the board I would suggest that you be very careful. 75 deg is very steep for any table saw. I would have to think about my geometry classes but if you cut them at a 15 deg angle to one face wouldn't that be 75 deg to the opposite face?

Re: Cool technique - Fractal Burning

I see that SS is now offering a SS quill to 1"- 8TPI adapter to mount standard lathe chucks and other stuff directly to the SS. Have they ever offered this adapter before?
