Re: Powertool Woodworking For Everyone - Both 4th Edition?
I picked up the latest white covered one today at the local SS affiliate location, time to settle in to some reading & learning! Make sure the last numbered page is 325 so that it includes the entire Index. Early copies were missing those last pages. Yes indeed, this does have p325 stops at let...

Powertool Woodworking For Everyone - Both 4th Edition?
I'm curious about a simple topic. My SS 510 came with a lot of SPT and a lot of accessories, supplies and reams of manuals for reading/course materials etc. It did not however come with the reference book PTWFE. I have browsed through Everett's digital '53/'55 version but would like to purchase the ...

Re: Bandsaw Overhaul
Foam fill the cubbies that capture sawdust. BTW why the thumb screws on the brand x miter gauge? The horizontal screws as you know hold the fence on, the two small vertical screws hold the bar stop guide in place (does anyone ever use those) similar to the SS but it uses set screws instead. I like ...

Re: Bandsaw Overhaul
Added a dust control port, the hole to access the tension adjustment and a window to view the tension setting. Any other modifications I should consider before calling this completed?

Re: Bandsaw Overhaul
Good Job!!!! Would make a good miter gauge alternative for the M5/V/7 as well. Interesting color of the miter gauge. Lol. The ‘Made in Taiwan’ label on the knob may have something to do with the coloring. I will be stripping it down to bare metal. It does have a polished handle clamp, similar to th...

Re: Bandsaw Overhaul
I modified the extruded fence to mount on the miter gauge, and shortened it to better suit the size of the cast table. When the fence is reversed it works well for cross cut as well. No doubt this will also prove useful on the belt sander and sanding wheels.

Re: Bandsaw Overhaul
Thanks everyone. I do have an extra miter gauge as well, I think I will look to modify and use the aluminum extrusion from the fence with it somehow. Shouldn't be hard to do. I have a wooden extension on the miter gauge now, but I like the idea of having the t-slot in the fence to use for clamping, ...

Re: Bandsaw Overhaul
Ok, clearly it is Item A shown below, which explains why I also have Item C in my stash of parts. I don't have an aluminum table though.
If anyone has end view of the extrusion on that aluminum table where the fence mounts I'd be interested to see it.
