Re: Shopsmith's new website is up....
@RFGuy -- I agree: different strokes for different folks. One of the things I do all the time with the Shopsmith disc sander is described and shown in PTWFE and that is sanding pieces to the exact same length by using the quill, the depth stop, and backing things up with the fence. While I can cut i...

But the comparable is the key word there. Yes, straight up comparisons to stand alone machines gets complicated both in terms of quality and functionality. Woodshp Nerdery did a video on this. I wasn't fully convinced by his methodology, which included points for things like manuals (which nearly a...

Re: A couple if kickback accidents
I now have the Jessem Clear-Cut Stock Guides on my 520 fence and it works for like 95% of the rips that I do without being in the way. It both pushes down and pulls the board into the fence due to the 5° angle on the rollers. I just have to get a push stick to start the board and go up and over the...

Even in the relatively short period of time I have been a Shopsmith customer (14 years) the quality of the internal packing on shipments has gotten noticeably worse.

Re: Shopsmith's new website is up....
What bothers me is how $950,000 covers all of SS assets. I think the previous owners made out well selling their used Shopsmith company for that price. And the new owners did well compared to the typical price of a brand new Shopsmith company ;) lol The real question is whether the used Shopsmith c...

Did you forget about the 25X sales increase target comment from the interview? ;) One way to increase revenue is to raise prices. Econ 101. I assumed the 25X sales increase target meant 25X more sales not the same number of sales at 25X the price. +1 Econ 102 increasing price too much results in lo...
