Re: A Bookshelf
The only piece that is notched is the center partition. The end panels are not. The ledger is mortised to the end panels with biscuits. Notching the partition allows me to put 2 screws through the ledger into the partition to give it more strength. I tend to design my cabinet work with no visible fa...

Re: A Bookshelf
The project is moving along. The base unit is done and first coat of finish on. The doors are surface sanded and ready for final cut to size and then shape the edges. This was the first time I have used the drum sander with the PP headstock and the difference was it took less than half the time due ...

Re: Best general purpose table saw blade for a newbie
I don’t think the arbor size is that important. It’s arguing Ford and Chevy stuff. The quality of the blade is what’s important. I have a mixture of 5/8, 1.0 and 1 1/4 blades and there really is no appreciable difference IMHO. Some blades just cut better than others.

Re: A Bookshelf
Making progress. The upper has first coat dry and the lower is almost done. Hopefully finish it up tomorrow or Wed depending on when the 1/4” ply for the back panel arrives.

Re: Multiwood window shelf
Anything wood set in a window is going to take a beating. Warpage is going to be an issue. You might consider gluing up the shelf and after surfacing laminate it to a piece of 3/4” plywood. Then face the front edge with hardwood to hide the ply and stiffen it even further. You may want to consider u...
