Here is my talon with Shopsmith adapter.
there are only two holes that it could be
it just seems like you would need three for stability

Lightnin,

The index wheel is under virtually no stress and two bolts keep it aligned with the chuck.

IS RIGHT... nice job
I would like to know just how the wheel is attached?
does it mount directly to the chuck?

Wheel mounts to back of Talon chuck using the threaded demount holes provided in the chuck.

Split Mandrel

I admit to not being much of a turner, but I wanted to do a little fancier pen turning and I found that my regular pen mandrel that I was using for the 7mm pens was just not working for me. I wanted to turn just the glue-up between centers. I split a mandrel leaving about 3/4" on each end for i...

Just curious as to the number of folks that have made the two bearing modification to their saws since I posted the modification back in 08 and if it worked well for you?

I'd like to purchase one of the many software packages now available out there. What are some of the the key (and maybe more importantly, subtle) elements to look for. Any recommendations on "the best"? I searched here with no succces. Many thanks Jerry I use DeltaCad as a quick and easy ...

What does this do my 1982 Bandsaw has one but I have never seen any instructions for adjusting it. Paul, the nylon bolt takes up the side play in the Guide Column Post. Just enough tension to remove the side play yet allow the post to move smoothly up and down. Did you buy your saw new in 82? I am ...

Hey, I would also like to see a bit more on the modified part. I do have the older version of the bandsaw and I do have some play in guide bar so this sounds like a good mod to make. I took a look at the 'parts explosion' in the manual and I am guess that we are talking about drilling and tapping a...

Ed, I see yours is the old style without the nylon bolt. I checked with SS and they are out of the new brackets so you will have to modify the one you have. I have a couple of saws here in my CO shop that I modified and the one I took a pic of one I used a 1/4x20 bolt about an inch long as I recall....
