Just rescued a Sawsmith 2000 Ultra...
After a 9+ hour round trip drive to Northeastern PA yesterday... she's on her road to recovery . All parts seemed to be there for the Excalibur fence but it looks like someone must have dropped the fence at some time as the black metal locking base isn't square (read warped). Someone with any experience with this fence have any ideas on how to straighten it/true it up?
Also looking for any advice on initial rehabilitation steps. Spent most of last evening after getting it home cleaning and blowing sawdust out of everywhere especially the open motor housing. Thanks for any assistance.

Sawsmith 2000 Ultra... set-up, aligned and ready to make sawdust!
Took awhile to get started on her, had to wait until the new shop was completed. Put a Forrest Woodworker II on her and she cuts like crazy Have the Excalibur fence with Board Buddies or the Incra Miter 5000 sled.

I have never seen one of these up close, but the fence 'base' appears quite substantial to me and not likely to 'warp'.
I can see dropping it would knock it out of square. I would look for screws securing the 'base' to the fence itself.

Very interesting. Did not know it had an extension table set up. Would love a few more photos showing how that works. Are those miter slots in the extension tables? Wonder what the thought process is on how those would get used (I know Dusty retrofitted a miter slot to an extension table).
Gale's Law: The bigger the woodworking project, the less the mistakes show in any photo taken far enough away to show the entire project!

Thank you gentlemen for all the kind comments... the Excalibur Fence is very substantial (18lbs, 45" L, 2.5" H, and 3" W), I found a second complete undamaged fence on CL from an Estate Sale company in OH and bought it including the 78" fence rails (purchase and shipping was more that what I paid for the saw to start with but I wanted to keep it original). The Board Buddies were a package deal with the replacement fence system.
It takes some time to perform all the alignments, Sawsmith 2K itself (10 pages), then Rails and Extension Tables (each has it's own miter slot) then the Excalibur Fence adjustment for tracking on the rails, vertical clearance of the extension tables and parallel alignment to a miter slot and the saw blade. The good news was that all the components still had manuals available online or through Shopsmith.
After all that, it's still not the equal of a high-end, single role cabinet saw. As others have mentioned, there's a lot of movement associated with the engineering necessary to allow the saw to function in the Radial Arm mode. It is however a unique piece in my collection and more than adequate for my meager capabilities.
I'll take some additional close up pictures and post them.
