Band saw for 10E model

Post by rodicaro »

Hi,

I bought a second hand 10E model. It came with a bandsaw with missing blade. I called shopsmith and learned my model was using jigsaws, but the one I have looks like a bandsaw. As the blkade was missing, it is hard to figure out what blade I need, and how to install it.

Any advice? Any info I can find for my particular problem?

Thanks,
rodicaro

Do you have a pic to post. Does your equip stand about 3 foot tall? Have two 10 inch rubber tired wheels inside? About how long do you think the blade should be?
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders, molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

Shopsmith made an adapter that allowed the bandsaw to mount to the Model 10 E/ER. It was called the power mount adapter and came in two versions 'A' or 'B'. A special headstock pulley had the drive couple cast into it.

The blade on all the bandsaws that were built for the Shopsmith is 72" long.
