Texas Booty rebuild pictures

As I know everyone likes pictures, I took some to include here. See the video I reference in the Texas Booty thread: http://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/maint ... 17571.html

OK, pictures.

First, I didn't want to molest this machine very much as I am just the second owner of her. Dawn's father apparently lubed the machine with oil and all of the cast iron was just saturated with oil and sawdust. I have to admit, that the machine was very preserved, so oil as a lube is not all that bad. Anyway, I steam cleaned the cast and Aluminum parts then put an etching primer on. After that was dry for a day or so, I painted just about everything with the old Verde Green Hammered (I still had a case of it left). I then over coated with the gold metallic trying to get the hammered look with a non hammered paint. Worked fairly well. This is not a "rebuild" thread, there are a hundred of those here. Go see MickyD's threads for detail rebuild instructions, didn't think we needed another one ... LOL The bearing were all perfect and I just polished the tubs and the table rods (see pictures). I did acquire a Speed changer (bought yet another 51 10ER  for the SC and I got a set of retractable casters for her from Skou. AND, before some of you eagle eyes find the belts fiasco on the SC, those were just staged as I had some belts coming from Skip, but didn't have them yet. The SC works perfectly!

I will post more pictures tomorrow ....

No questions, just a statement: great job!
