Looking for measurement of speed quadrant

Post by chasxjs »

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me.
I have a Total Shop that has a broken speed control quadrant. Since the company went out of business years ago, I can not find a direct replacement part.
Searching around on the web, I discovered that the Shopsmith speed quadrant looks almost identical. However, I am also reading on this site that none of the parts are interchangeable.
This leaves me with two options, make a new part from scratch or modify a similar part to fit. I am hoping to that modifying the SS part may be simpler than starting from scratch.
I have attached a picture and am wondering if anyone may have one of these laying around that they could measure the distance from the center of the pivot hole to the tip of the gear teeth.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I have one here. It measures about 1 1/2" from the tip of the teeth to the center of the hole.
