Scroll saw
I just bought and old shopsmith. It came with a scrollsaw attachment. Today I was messing around with it and went to attaching the scroll saw for the first time. There are two drive pins on the side of the headstock. The only one I can get too line up with the saw is labeled "only use this high speed with jointer or sprayer". Do I connect the saw to that one!? I would need extensions for the posts and the table would be at about 5.5 feet high if I were to line it up with the other drive shaft. Thanks in advance

That preceded the creation of the scroll saw.JW727 wrote:I just bought and old shopsmith. It came with a scrollsaw attachment. The scroll saw does connect to the lower idler(aux) shaft.

Re: Scroll saw
You can download a PDF of the Model 610 jigsaw manual at the link below. Strange place to find a machine manual, but it’s been there for years.

Re: Scroll saw
Thank you! I couldn't find answers anywhere and didn't want to connect it and blow it apart before even using it! Cheers!

Re: Scroll saw
Now IF you have the jigsaw, it DOES connect to the upper shaft.JW727 wrote:Thank you! I couldn't find answers anywhere and didn't want to connect it and blow it apart before even using it! Cheers!
