Latest SS Email sale

Post by jsburger »

This is not about the sale (Conical sanding disk) but the picture at the end of the page.

We have known about Lowe's for years but Amazon?

I just checked and sure enough Shopsmith has items on Amazon. It will be interesting to see how they fare in the customer reviews for folks that expect delivery the next day.

I'm anxious to give it a try. I use Amazon regularly. However, Amazon is not always overnight. I have been waiting for a part from Amazon for over a month now.

I think the proper way to say it is that there are SS items on Amazon not that SS has items on Amazon. I checked 10 or 15 items that were actual SS items and they were all being sold by third party's.

The Olsen Cool Blocks for the bandsaw are $14.76 on Amazon. Turns out I had just purchased these thru SS and was charged over $19....

All that I am inclined to say at this point is "Make certain you know exactl what you want and exactly what you are ordering". Many items offered on Amazon are (as John said) offered by third party sellers and exchanges and returns are not always smooth going.

Right on Dusty. Also notice the logo says coming soon. That seems to apply to Amazon. Not sure how that applies to Lowe's since you have been able to order some SS items through Lowe's web site for quite a while.

There are about twenty items actually sold by Shopsmith.

You have to look a little closer. From the first item on your link it does say "by Shopsmith". If you look on the right side of the page under the buy now button it says "Ships from and sold by BeautieDream". That is not SS. Remember the SS brand abrasive products are made by ALI Industries and branded as Shopsmith.

From their website...

"Ali Industries also launched a complete line of professional quality premium abrasive products to the DIY market under the Shopsmith® banner."

These products are marked under the Gator name.

The SS branded abrasives are sold all over the place like Lowe's. They should be as they are OUTSTANDING. But, it is another example of things that SS has sold over the years with the SS name that they did/do not make.

When we see SS products sold on Amazon from SS in Dayton then we might know SS has a presence on Amazon. When we do, all the listings will look the same and will definitely say they are from SS.
