Trying to get my mid 80s mark v 510 running
How’s it going I just recently got my opas “grandfathers” mark v it has sat for many years when I turn it on it sometimes will turn then stop n the motor just hums or spindles will not turn at all my speed control also seems to be stuck I had previously followed the owners manual n did oil it and blow it out and made sure shives were not stuck anyone one who can take the time n help me threw this process is greatly appreciated I would like to get this to how my opa had it running back when he was alive thank you

Jacob Anderson is one source for some free YouTube videos on repairing them. He also is a reputable repair site if you need someone to do it for you.

Does it turn freely by hand with no power applied? If not, you have something bound up inside. If it turns, then look at the motor.

Yes it turns freely I think the belt is slipping way to far between the sheaves

I also checked the motor n tested with no belt on n it ran fine sounded good

Did you oil BOTH movable sheaves(control&floating)?

How wide is the belt?
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.
