May not be the best price but finding just the Floating Center and Nut is harder than a complete Tailstock which could cost more. Always remember to watch the shipping costs on ebay. It can vary greatly. This is a seller I have bought from and would again.

Ed despite everything i'm befuddled on the best way to get the stem to fit in that tail-stock gap. It's 1 inch wide. Am I missing a fitting or a section some place?

Are you new to the forum, or have you created a second account.

Either way it would be helpful if you could post a picture of your tailstock to help us diagnose your problem.
The first 10E's did not have the adjustable socket. the #2-MT socket was machined directly in the tailstock casting. Also be sure that you have the tailstock mounted facing in the right direction.
