Putting blade arbor back on after having blade sharpened. Are there any torque specs for arbor nut? Seems very tight but need to be sure so I need to know of any specs.
Thanks.

If torque specs exist, I've never seen them, and even if I did, I won't pull out a torque wrench each time I switch blades. I just use the handiest wrench and make it tight. This isn't a precision engine adjustment.
My dado blade gets taken off and back on multiple times each time I use it so a torque wrench would be a huge detriment to getting work done.

Re: Torque specs for arbor nut.
I do not know of any torque specs either. Tighten the nut snug.
Arbors with the 5/8” threaded shaft and smaller are right hand fine thread. Most 1 1/4” Arbors are left hand threaded. The Sawsmith only arbors are 1-1/4” or 5/8” threads. All the Arbor nuts turn against the spindle rotation unless you use reverse (PowerPro or Mark VII).

Will get as tight as possible,
Thanks.

Re: Torque specs for arbor nut.
No need to go overboard on tightening. As Russ said above, all the arbors are designed so that the nut will self tighten under load.arf1301 wrote:Could not find anything in my manual so decided to use Forum.

Re: Torque specs for arbor nut.
If you tighten "as tight as possible" you will have a heck of a time loosening the nut to change blades. Just over snug is more than enough. If you look at the end of the arbor away from the head stock (5/8 arbor) the blade turns counter clock wise. The nut is right hand so it screws on opposite of the blade rotation. That makes the nut tighten when the blade turns.arf1301 wrote:Could not find anything in my manual so decided to use Forum.

I don't know of any table saw (SS or otherwise) that specifies a torque on the blade arbor nut. Because of the above configuration it is not necessary.

As Ron and John have added don't over tighten it. Remember you will want to get the blade off the Arbor at some point.
