Orange Band Saw Tire Woes

Post by algale »

So, a few years back I "upgraded" one my band saws to the Shopsmith orange urethane tires. They slipped off the wheels yesterday when doing some re-sawing. Partially off the upper. Totally off the lower. Wasn't running the blade that fast (between B and C) while using a properly tensioned (1/2" resaw blade).

I've decided to go with the blue band saw tires from a certain ebay seller. I recall Bill Mayo said good things about them.

It will be interesting to see if the blue ones last longer than the orange ones.

Bet neither last as long as the glued on rubber ones. ;)
