Plant stand progress

Post by wrmnfzy »

Since I am an old goat and am self isolating it gives me time to do some honey dos. I have started 2 plant holders for larger flower pots. They are made from 4x4 cedar fence posts and cedar fence boards. I have one put together and the other pieces cut and posts mortised.

I need to stain but of course need more stain, which I thought I had to match a previous larger one I had made. Don’t feel real secure going to a big box store to get matching stains. Too many people I don’t feel comfortable around due to my age and prior cancers, etc.

How about ordering the stain online? Here in Central Ohio, most Amazon deliveries are next day.

Speaking of which, I hear that they are handing out raises and hiring like crazy, to deal with the increased demand from coronavirus isolation.

I looked at that but decided that I would go to a big box store in a local suburb an hour before closing. It was almost deserted, got in and out with little social interaction.

Yes, made them out of the fence boards.

Here is a photo of one of the two plant stands after staining. Both are finished and stained. The color palette was wife’s choice.

Looks good! If it’s the wife’s choice, then it is perfect.

Unless she changes her mind. :)
