Hello all,
A friend of mine asked me recently if I could make a couple of copies of a small chair that had been made originally by her grandfather back in pre-WW II Germany. I’ve added a pic of the original chair. To make them, I used the Shopsmith saw mode, vertical and horizontal modes to drill and sand, sanding disk, my Shopsmith Bandsaw, Shopsmith strip sander, and Shopsmith jointer. I turned the legs on a separate lathe because I’m still uncomfortable using the Shopsmith lathe. I also have a Shopsmith jigsaw but it’s missing one of the upper Chuck jaws.

Here’s a look at the new copies. Apologies for the upside downness. Haven’t figured out how to work pics with my IPad.

Re: German child's chair copies
SASman, congrats on reproducing the chairs. It looks like you did a great job on getting them right. I have to wonder how comfortable they are. I suppose by only having one leg at front that the child can easier put their feet back under the seat.

Re: German child's chair copies
Nice job duplicating the chair! Good workout of the Shopsmith platform.
