Francis

Be sure to post the PMPM drill press when it's finished.

As for the garage doors, I'm sure that the founding fathers of the SS family would approve. They were always meant to live in garages (the machines, not the fathers)........and apparently they still do.

Here was one from late 2007. Mostly I learned about the mechanicals, with the cosmetics as a 2nd priority:

This really makes me want to finish my 1954 Greenie this weekend but alas I don't think that will be possible too much painting and rebuilding still to be done but I will try and post pics of my Mark VII which I did not completely restore as it was already in pretty good shape. But after the Mark V Greenie is finished I may end up doing the Mark VII over like the Greenie.

Powdercoated battleship gray. Tubes and stands have dry film lubricant. Still on the original motor. Now has a new stand that's not pictured.

Finally Finished!

Post by wannabewoodworker »

Well I got an unexpected package when I got home today from Bill Mayo and it was the parts I needed to finish my Greenie re-assembly. So I immediately went to the garage and slap the rest of it together. Then I did a high speed adjustment and re-adjusted the Gilmer belt as it was too tight and the motor dodn't want to turn very fast.....:o After re-tensioning the Gilmer belt she ran like a raped ape.......:D This thing seems to be even faster then my Mark VII but I have never done a speed adjustment on the Mark VII so she may be hamstrung a little bit. My Greenie came out awesome as far as I am concerned. There were some minor issues with the paint that disappointed me but I learned from that and won't have those problems again. I am really pleased with the way it all came out and now I am wondering if I should keep it or sell it????? Also this machine came with a sanding disc that measures 12" in diameter but I had another one from my Mark VII that was smaller which measured 10" in diameter. Did SS provide both 12" and 10" sanding discs???
