However, this installation is somewhat dependent on the wheels that you use. The wheel assemblies may be different heights from different manufacturers - so proceed slowly - it is difficult to undrill holes..
The original leg holes locations can varies by as much as 1/4" between legs where the holes are drilled in the legs over the many years. Using clamps to hold the caster assembly to get the desired proper height for the caster is the best way. I averaged the different distances to make a template that everyone can use.

Mike
I wasn't.

"Milk" is a euphemism.

I'm actually imbibing "cerveza." (Look it up.)
Oh, today is my day off, so I'm allowed. Also,
since I'm listening to a Jimmy Buffett concert
(Live) the drink of the day should be a
Margartia, from Margaritaville!

(Except tequila gives me the "technicolor
yawns.") Rum is more to my liking.

Sorry for the hijack!

Oh, for everyone (except Fred Sheldon)

Fred should already have this!

Are the truss head bolts used to attach the casters to the legs 18-8 in size?

Thanks

Jack,

I am not certain that I understand your question but I'm going to give it a go.

My caster assemblies are attached to the legs using either 1/4"-20x1" truss heads bolts and the appropriate 1/4"-20 hex nut.

On some of the locations, I may have used 1/4"-20x3/4" bolts. The nylon spacers sorta dictate the length.

With regard to your reference to 18-8: I do not believe that is a size reference but rather a reference to the type of stainless steel used.

Bill,
Your tip was a life saver I was able to do the upgrade all by myself.
Used the SS Castor upgrade with the metal locating tool, this was easier than I thought.
Thanks again for the good Ideas,
Dan

Dan, I am sure Bill would have liked your comment. He was one of the best on this forum. Unfortunately he passed away several months ago. Left a good legacy.
