brand new to the forum

i'm brand new to this forum. bought a used SS V in about 1962/63. i did not come with the wrenches to remove the saw blades from the arbor. are they available?

Yes, grouch - they are available. Consider buying two. Of course you already know that two wrenches are often required.

Also remember that the 1-1/2" nut has reversed threads. Clockwise to loosen!

Welcome to the forum.

One thing to watch out for and that is the locking screw that holds the arbour to the shaft. That can get munted if it is backed off too far. The reverse threaded nut can catch on this and cause problems. Guess how I know...

I may be missing something here but I don't believe it is hard to get a wrench. They are available from Shopsmith:

However, I used a Crescent.
