Thank you for your response. I kept looking then removed the floating sheave. There actually was NOT an oil hole. I let Shopsmith know and they gave me quite a deal on a new floating sheave, WITH and oil hole! (excellent customer service)!

I remember reading in an older post, I believe it was Bill Mayo, mentioned that some of the early sheaves didn't have oil holes.
