I've been waiting for assistance that never came so I reassembled my Mark V Model 520 without assistance. The only part that was questionable was mounting the headstock.

I believe it is put together correctly but lifting that headstock by myself was not wise. I have a hip and a knee that can give up on me without notice.

However, putting it up on the extension table and then adjusting the carriage to lineup the tubes with the holes in the headstock worked really slick. Once I had the tubes in contact with the headstock it became quite stable. Lifting and sliding it onto the tubes from there was effortless.

However, I would hesitate to do it again. I could have lost control of that headstock very easily and I understand that they don't bounce.

I truly appreciate the concern but with the help of my pace maker and my full time heart monitor the ticker is not a problem. Went to the cardiologist for a six month checkup just last week. Echo indicates a strong heart and I have had no afib events during the last six months. Normal rhythm and good oxygen levels and blood pressure.

I have six great grand kids whose graduations I want to witness. I have to hang in there.

My wife and I are looking for recumbent bikes to help insure that. The problem then will be parking space in the garage/shop.

I did the same thing when I received my Mark 7. Totally dissembled and re-assembled to get into the basement by myself. I think the only difficult was the weight of the head stock (appx 80-90 lbs). Other than that was an easy job and a better understanding on how eveythings fits together. Everything lined up afterward.
