Long term blade tension 'can' conceivably cause the upper wheel shaft/mount to deform from original position(cant).

I say 'can' since that is an observation rather than something measured.

Insufficient cant is all too common. I think there are many causes including attempts to make the blade track in the middle of the upper wheel which is NOT crowned(a crown is the reason center tracking is a goal of almost all bandsaws).

Any one hear a discussion about tracking/slipping off the lower wheel(the one driving the blade)?

Gotta say before entering, THE SS BANDSAW DOES NOT TRACK AT THE CENTER OF THE WHEELS!

It tracks about 1/4" from the back edge of the wheel(always regardless of blade size!).

When your finished with the bandsaw, do you release the blade tension?
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.
