Re: Spring Purchase
Another question. If i was to put an arbor in a saw blade and lay it flat in a drawer how deep would my drawer need to be for that arbor to fit?

Quill od is 1 3/ 4"
the 'height' will vary with the type of arbor with 510/520 being the tallest.
I leave it for others to post the actual di!ension(s).

Thanks JPG... So there is a different arbor for 510/520 than there is for the 500?JPG wrote:Quill od is 1 3/ 4"

Re: Spring Purchase
Casters are not included in a new purchase. They are an option to purchase. I would also recommend purchasing the set with the 3" wheels.Mike907 wrote:If the Mark 7 doesn't come with them, make sure you get the 3" casters.

Re: Spring Purchase
Oh, yeah...there was one more thing...While in the shop this afternoon I realized there is another small item you might find extremely useful - the Adjustable Stop Collar. I find it makes cutting to a specific depth much, much easier. Can also be used for fine adjustments in drill press mode.

Re: Spring Purchase
The '500' arbors are 'shorter'. Because the table is narrower and the blade slot is closer.Spooner wrote:Thanks JPG... So there is a different arbor for 510/520 than there is for the 500?JPG wrote:Quill od is 1 3/ 4"

Re: Spring Purchase - Height of 500 vs 505/510/520 Arbors
My first 5/8" arbor that I bought was actually for a 505/510/520 system. At the time I bought the arbor, I was unaware of the dimensional difference. It works on my 500, as long as I adjust table carriage and quill positions accordingly. I have since bought a 5/8" arbor meant specifically for a 500, and is about 5 mm shorter. Any arbor meant for a blade with an 1-1/4" diameter hole will be shorter. I estimate the longer 505/510/520 arbor for a blade with a 5/8" hole to be 57 mm. Don't make any drawers for storing blades mounted on an arbor too tight of a fit, as blade thicknesses vary too.Spooner wrote:Another question. Re: Spring Purchase
The difference is 3/8".
The overall length has nothing to do with the mounting hole size.
However some older arbors have nuts and have threaded posts that are longer.
57 mm is about 2 1/4".
