Hello All,
I started small on the lathe and now want to make a floor lamp. How do you make a tall lamp post with the wire in the middle in segments that will last?
Yes I'm still green.

I’d run a long piece of lamp pipe up the middle. It can serve as both a conduit for the wire, and as an end clamp for your turned lamppost segments.

This place seems to have a good selection of them.

Hi,
Just commenting here... You'll possibly be challenged on keeping the thing "bottom heavy" enough to avoid tipping.

Here was an alternate Shopsmith-assisted way I did a lamp base:

Nice looking table and functional. Did you turn the spindles too?

Good job of turning!

I'm always impressed with turn pieces.
