Today is the third day of the major snowstorm in the central plains. So far, we have around 1.5 feet of snow. If the forecast is right, it should start to wind down tomorrow so we can dig out.

You're pprobably just still following the "New Ice Age" predictions from the 70's.

If you want to find out all about climate change, Google "frozen woolly mammoths in Siberia" Animals were frozen about 10 thousand years ago within hours with undigested food still in their stomachs. Definitely NOT cause by man burning fossil fuels.

It is too early for snowstorms like this, but it has happened before. We had a big storm like this in 1991, but it came a week or so later.
And, I'm not old enough to remember it, but my Dad always talked about the one that came in September back in 1942.

I had a friend stationed at Minot AFB. He said they had to run a rope between the barracks and the chow hall so they could find their way to eat because the snow was so deep they had no idea where the sidewalk was.

Uncle Sam sent me to both Anchorage and Fairbanks AK. I've seen a lot of snow and felt some severe cold but not nearly like those poor guys stationed at Minot. That base is miserably cold, snowy and windy most of the winter.
As nasty as it is, a buddy of mine took his discharge at Minot and elected to stay there.

You folks do know that a single event does not define a trend, right? Averages are just that, averages. Data collected over years...
