Scrap Wood Business Card Case

Versions of these business card holders are all over the internet. I had a scrap of wood leftover from my platform rocker bases that I thought would work well. Basically similar construction to a band saw box. Band saw off the faces. Then hollow out the middle leaving three narrow edges and glue the faces back on.
In this case I also used my new Shopsmith oscillating drum sander (with a narrow diameter drum) to sand in the thumb/finger grab. That’s a very good tool. I know people have been using oscillating spindle sanders for a while. Not sure why I held out. Definitely does a better job than a non-oscillating drum.
I’m still not sure what kind of wood this is but probably walnut. The finish is just wax. The case holds about 15 standard business cards.
I’ve got a couple of other designs in my mind’s eye so there may be a version 2 or 3 of this project. I think they will make good holiday gifts. This one took me about three hours start to finish. I think having done one I could do it faster next time.
