Stanley No. 22 Combination Square

Post by davebodner »

I have a Stanley 22 combination square that my grandfather probably procured some time around the middle of the previous century.

The awl wants to fall out of its hole. It hasn't fallen completely out yet, but I think that day is coming. Does anyone know of a fix?

This one isn't mine, but it looks just like it (minus the box).

any way to stuff a small piece of foam or something into the bottom of the hole so it holds the awl ?

It may come to that. On a Starrett, there's a removable brass bushing down there. If mine were a Starrett, they would've sent me a new bushing for free. But, I don't if mine has a bushing, whether it's removable, or if I can buy a replacement.
