Here, s my 1962 Brownie that my late father in law bought at a garage sale.It sat for years in an open shed until I couldn, t take it any more and decided to restore it.The way tubes were so rusty the head stock would not slide.The motor had been rewired wrong so it just hummed and tripped the breaker when the switch was turned on.JPG helped me figure out what the heck this guy did.Now it runs fine.

Is that a chuck on the left end of the headstock?

Yes a four jaw adjustable chuck with a live center in the tail stock.

And an outlet on the legs?!

Nice restoration. I like the aftermarket outlet. is it wired in parallel with the motor? It would be great for those times when I use my SS mounted router table or my spindle sander sitting on the end table.

In a different thread he mentioned two in front and two inside behind them. Power cord connected directly to all 4. The SS has a short cord that plugs into one of the 'inside' ones. ***** nope!**** See later post by disc42

Excellent job! The extra outlet also allows the use of a random orbit sander when sanding bowls or other larger items on the lathe.

I use a 5" Dewalt random orbit sander to sand the outside of bowls on my model 10 and with the sander dust bag attached, greatly cuts down on the amount of dust in the shop.

Looks like I will be adding an outlet as well. Helps keep the power cords at the SS unit rather than multiple cords on the floor!!!
