Re: Old kitchen scale needs help

If you are considering making it from wood, birch plywood is available in 1/16", 1/32", and even 1/64" thicknesses. Check any hobby store that sells models and supplies.

Re: gilmer clutch rebuild: any source for the fiber disks?

I think your best bet is to PM Bill Mayo. He probably has rebuilt clutches available, and may have some parts, as well.

Re: ShopSmith ShopMate vacuum

I have had mine for over 25 years. :) I burned out the motor on mine, once(my own fault :( ). They are apparently made by Shop-Vac, and I was able to get a replacement motor from a place that sold repair parts for the Shop_vac line. It is still going strong, but I did replace it with a DC3300 for du...

I have one, and I am not very impressed with it. It was made by Wen, and is very underpowered. It might be ok for light touchups, but the motor stalls very easily. Mine hasn't been out of the box for years. It was not one of my better purchases.

Probably the Speed Chart Label, though I think it is usually to the right of the switch.

516627 Speed Chart Label ... $3.25 available from ShopSmith.
