Re: Shopsmith "Self Study Course"
My understanding from his posts here was that he was selling refurbished Shopsmiths at a county fair type event and got a visit from a lawyer who not only demanded he remove any references to shopsmith but also he not wear a shopsmith badged hat. I do not think rewriting anything was in his skill mi...

Re: Shopsmith "Self Study Course"
Since thee is working closely with Nick my concern is mitigated.
As a history lesson Bill Mayo(RIP) could enlighten thee regarding his use of shopsmith 'stuff' in his used shopsmith endeavors and the visit by lawyer types.

Re: Mark V chuck spinning off
Inertia. Does the chuck have a locking set screw to secure the adapter to the chuck? Teflon tape likely made it worse(low friction fit). With no locking set screw(with pad to prevent scaring the adapter threads) the adapter MUST be torqued to the chuck with considerable force. IF you intend to only ...

Re: 10ER motor spins both ways
Continuity check the start switch and connecting wires. An interesting 'test' would be to remove the capacitor from the start circuit and try the free spinning test. I predict no difference.

Re: Great Idea or Just Madness...
I am still stuck in “drawer purgatory” but I am now ready to install them. Prior to gluing them up, I decided to build Nick Engler’s gluing jig. Here is a link to The Workshop Companion website: https://workshopcompanionstore.com/ This is a fantastic gluing jig and provides a dead flat surface with...

Any hand held sander(powered) would be a better approach.

Re: Cutting 1/2" acrylic on bandsaw
Slow is the method I have used in the past. The plastic must NOT melt. I have even run 1/4" as an edge finisher through the jointer (again, slow).
1/2" would have to require even slower.
