One does not say Stanley, may or may not be genuine although they do look like a matched set. Larger is roughly 14” long Shorter is just slightly over 9” long Cant locate model/s...

Re: The ultimate 5-in-1 as they say..
Really appreciate the thoughts JPG, I wasn’t considering the main carriage and no doubt that will make a huge difference on the optimum shorty length, if there is such a thing. Still early, I’m likely to think about this for a while before ever making a tube shorter. I did pick up the second SS toda...

Re: The ultimate 5-in-1 as they say..
I may be sleeping in the garage... :D Hypothetically speaking, lets assume I bartered my way into a second MarkV and am picking it up tomorrow in a snow storm. I'm not keen on having two full length machines. If I was to convert one to a shorty, assuming that is a logical decision, is there any cons...

Re: The ultimate 5-in-1 as they say..
You have now found the need for the 2nd machine. A Shop Deputy Kit (which you can make with pieces from eBay) / buy new from Shopsmith, or a cut-down 'Shorty' often power extra SPT's to have them readily available and reduce the re-configuring time they take to mount and set-up. That extra headstoc...

Re: pocket screws
I use Subsilver2, but I think the other styles should have similar similar options, the icons will be different and the names in the navigation bar may be different too. What skin are you using? I am not using a skin, just the default Shopsmith one. I tried the New Posts link on it. It works, but i...
