A year or so ago, my daughter wanted a pirate-themed toy box for my grandson, so I built a cedar chest. She asked if I could make it "look old and piratey", so I burned it with a torch

I've seen a lot of reports about the PP running hot at high speeds - if there is a little misalignment, friction might be contributing to the heat issue.

William Ng posted the 5 cut video on Youtube. I've also seen a solution where a sled was made that rode on the table horizontally, but introduces the board at 45 degrees to the blade like this

I bought my first one used 3 years ago (1988 with moulding head and lathe tools) for $450. I bought another used one year later (1993)because it came with a rebuilt headstock and ALL the SPT's and accessories (except DC3300) for $2500. I'm actually weighing the benefits of buying a new Mark 7 versus...

I think you'll be fine Dusty - my basement shop is 12x14, and I'm good with everything except large cabinets. I break down large sheets in the garage, and on the rare occasion I've had to make something too large to easily handle in the shop (once, and I could have done it if tried), I could move to...

If you could figure out a way to easily lock the quill, you could use it as an OPR.
