Scott Markwood's last four videos are on the jigsaw. In the first one, I believe he says to use pinless scrollsaw blades.

Re: LATHE SPEEDS?
A good maximum speed for beginning turners is to divide the wood blank's diameter into 6000 rpm, e.g. a 6" blank could be turned at 1000 rpm max and a 3" blank at 2000 rpm. This would be for a well balanced blanks. Here is a link to some safety tips from my local turning club - https://akw...

Re: Metric Rulers???
Starrett offers quite a selection of rules. They aren't cheap and they're more precise than may be needed for woodworking, but they are high quality.

Re: GFCI protected circuits
I didn't have any problems with the PowerPro on my GFCi outlet, but when I got a Jet midi-lathe with a variable speed DC motor, it would trip the breaker every time. I purchased and installed a hospital grade GFCI outlet and that cured the problem.

For anyone interested, John Beaver will be doing an online demo of his "Wave" bowls on Feb. 27. $15 is a pretty good deal ($10 if you are an AAW member).

Hot Hands and Little Hotties chemical hand warmers work well, and the heat lasts 8-10 hours. I use the toe warmer versions almost daily on my walks. Around here, Costco carries the Little Hotties brand and Cabelas has the Hot Hands. Both are available on Amazon.

Re: Shopsmith Nova G3 chuck or alternative?
I think you will be happy with the Nova, the package seems like a good deal. You can look here to see if there is a woodturning club in your area. They are probably having virtual meetings, but might be able to suggest someone to help you in person getting started with bowl turning. My local club is...

Re: Shopsmith Nova G3 chuck or alternative?
Here's a previous thread on this topic: https://www.shopsmith.com/ss_forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=23659&p=270536&hilit=chuck#p270536 If you increase the amount of turning that you do, you will probably buy more chucks, because it is easier and faster to change chucks than it it is to change...
