Re: Deep Hole Horizontal Drilling

I have tried putting a 1x4 as an extension and it has a tendency to flex. I could try a 2x4 but would probably have to clamp it. Hole sizes are up to 5/8". I have tried drilling a 1/4" first to help with bit wander. the size of piece I use is generally a 2x2 or a a 3x3. I like the idea of ...

Re: Deep Hole Horizontal Drilling

I have tried using the miter gauge but it does not supply enough support as the drill gets deeper causing misalignment of the drill. I have two fences for the 510 so that might be an option. I probably need a better clamping system that will hold better to the bottom of the 510 table. Just looking f...

Re: Bandsaw Questions

I still have a litte cant and in the process of fixing it. The blade still is riding toward the back of the top wheel and seems to be working pretty well. As I cut more I should be able to improve as I do more cutting with the narrower blades. Thanks Larry

Deep Hole Horizontal Drilling

I have a Mark V and a 510 and have a need to drill some deep holes (15 to 18 Inches). I have been clamping a 2x4 to the table but it is difficult to get it square with the drill bit. Has anyone come up with a fence adaption that would allow me to attach the 510 fence parallel to the quill that locks...

Re: Bandsaw Questions

The bearing under the table is the one I am having difficulty getting to work correctly. I think I have the problem solved. The I finally got the bearing under the table contacting the back of the blade by moving the blade toward the back of the top wheel. I then adjusted the bearing above the table...

Re: Bandsaw Questions

I probably misunderstood. It is riding in the track of the bearing that is behind the cover. That part seems to be working correctly. Larry

Re: Bandsaw Questions

I am not sure what you mean by clearing. The bearing is about 1/4 inches away from the back of the blade. It does not appear to touch the blade any time wile sawing. Larry

Bandsaw Questions

I have the model 505641 bandsaw serial 121490 and continually have difficulty setting it up with the 1/8 inch blades. Not so much with the 5/8 blade. I am continually grasping the top wheel to get the blade to track properly. The upper wheel bearing appears to be in good shape. I have read the bands...

Re: Joint-Matic

I have a joint matic about half of the price was for shipping. I enjoy the unit other than all the cranking. There is a strong unit on bend oregon craigslist priced at $250.00. It has been on the site a few weeks. Larry
