Thank you all for your kind words. Despite the flaws (which non-woodworkers likely won’t even notice), I am proud of how it’s come out. I’ll take a photo with the flag once it’s in place.

I delivered the display case to my mother-in-law today and she loved it. I discovered that she had not realized how important it was to her to have the flag honorably displayed. Here are the photos of the case completed, with an inscribed brass plaque on the back panel, and her husband’s flag inside.
