Re: 3D SketchUp of the "Under-the-Mark V" Accessory Cabinet
Thank you Az,
You nudged me into becoming acquainted with SketchUp. It is intended for 3D drawings but I used it here for 2D drafting. These are simple shapes but it worked better than I had expected. The automatic dimensioning works well and made it easy to line up and space out locations. The tape measure was also very handy. I worked around its limitations in adding text by exporting the drawing in .pdf format and using PDFescape to add the titles.
Didn't see a way to make dashed or dotted lines but I suppose you can always use colored lines for those purposes.
Thanks again,

Now...perhaps a v3 specially designed to accommodate the lift assist Anyone?
Re: 3D SketchUp of the "Under-the-Mark V" Accessory Cabinet
I have the lift assist, and after I installed it, I realized that it pretty much precludes any such cabinet hung from the bench tubes. If someone does come up with a design that'll work with it, it would be super.damagi wrote:Now...perhaps a v3 specially designed to accommodate the lift assist Anyone?

Thanks. I keep the universal lathe tool rest in the bottom left drawer and with the jointer on the back everything is rock solid, maybe too much so when retracting the casters. Pretty heavy kerthunk when it lands. I do have the premium casters now so it is still easy to roll around.
